History
120 YEARS OF MAKING THINGS.
The Tannery Building at 1332 Fourth Street is a Berkeley city landmark. Purchased by Manasse-Block Tannery in 1905, it operated for 80 years — shipping boot and shoe leather across the United States. One newspaper called the leather "a distinction of being in a class by itself."
After closing in 1986, it was restored into the Bay Area's most distinctive creative workspace.
